About
An experienced freelance designer based in Devon, UK, creating designs for the Homewares and Apparel markets.
With over 10 years experience working in the UK, European and US markets.
I have experience designing and creating original artwork across prints, wovens and embroidery for a wide range of home products, to include; Bedding, Pillows/Cushions, Throws, Rugs, Curtains, Upholstery, Bath, Wall Art/Wallpaper, Hard-goods/Tabletop and Tiles.
From an early age I was inspired by my surroundings, particularly nature and botanicals. At 13, I was fortunate to travel to India with my Gramps to meet my Great Gran. Observing and absorbing the vibrancy of the country, the textiles and the architecture, this sparked my passion for travel. It was at this time, colour, pattern and texture became an integral part of my thinking.
Driven by my love of the handmade, I create artwork through drawings, paintings, and mixed media for screen printing and digital print techniques.
Freelance work includes designing prints and surface patterns, and researching trends to produce trend-boards and trend led write-ups/trend edits, for clients large and small from the Homewares and Apparel industries, as well as working with Licensed brands.
I also run the GLD Pattern Library, a catalogue of ready to purchase print designs for exclusive use.
